Serving the United Kingdom and beyond
Serving the United Kingdom and beyond, Ilford-headquartered New Bethel Christian Centre (NBCC) operates as an interdenominational charity, providing assistance to the elderly, orphans, and widows. New Bethel Christian Centre also works to promote Christian values in Ilford and throughout the world. The organization's evangelical and missionary work focuses on underserved populations in African countries and beyond.
NBCC’s spiritual head Amaechi Dubem Okwuosa was born in Nigeria to parents who were educators. Excelling in academics, he trained in Law and Social Sciences at the Anambra State University of Technology (now Nnamdi Azikiwe Federal University). While pursuing his law degree and working at the Co-operative and Commerce Bank Enugu, Mr. Okwuosa developed an interest in charitable giving, helping several students with accommodation and tuition expenses. After establishing a law practice, he studied theology in Nigeria and in other countries.
Since 2010, Pastor Amaechi Okwuosa’s charity has assisted in the training of numerous students, from primary school students to postgraduate candidates pursuing engineering, law, and medical degrees. His organization has also distributed textbooks to schools, and food and clothing to the less privileged. NBCC has notably covered medical expenses for patients, with a child in Abuja Damilola Bamidele, Nigeria, recently undergoing successful surgery to correct a deformity. The charity reaches out to the Ilford community and offers a transnational message of personal growth and empowerment through its guiding philosophy: "We are the voice and the hand that encourages people to change their lives with hope, comfort, and peace."
